Big Meech

Demetrius Edward Flenory, most famously known as Big Meech, is an American entrepreneur and convicted drug trafficker. He co-founded the Black Mafia Family (BMF) with his brother Terry Lee Flenory ("Southwest T").

  • Rise to Power: Big Meech, along with his brother, built BMF from a Detroit-based drug trafficking organization into a nationwide network in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They were known for their lavish lifestyle and connections within the hip-hop industry.
  • Criminal Activities: The BMF was involved primarily in cocaine distribution, but also reportedly engaged in money laundering and other crimes.
  • Arrest and Conviction: In 2005, Big Meech and his brother were arrested and later convicted on drug trafficking charges. He was originally sentenced to 30 years in prison.
  • Release: Big Meech's sentence was later reduced and he was released from prison in 2021. He's currently under supervised release.
  • Cultural Impact: The BMF's story has been heavily fictionalized and romanticized. A Starz television series, BMF (TV series), portrays a dramatized account of the Flenory brothers' rise and fall.
